The Giants wasted no time getting down to 75 players today. The deadline is 4pm, but why wait? They have have a game Wednesday so no time like the present.

DT Chris Canty and TE Travis Beckum were placed on the regular-season PUP list. Neither is healthy enough to return at this juncture. These moves ensure that both will be out of action until the last week of October.

Fourth-round draft pick OL Brandon Mosley (ankle) was placed on season-ending IR. Good move. Mosley has the ability to develop into a solid pro but was not progressing quickly enough to help the OL this year, so this move will benefit him – and the Giants – for next season.

No surprises here: TE Ryan Purvis, CB Brandon Bing, OL Joel Reinders, DTs Oren Wilson and Carlton Powell, WR Brandon Collins and TE Christian Hopkins 

Some mild eyebrows raisers: The team terminated the contract of CB Antwaun Molden, the former Patriot who the Giants signed as a free agent; UDFA WR Julian Talley, who has played well and showed promise; UDFA RB Joe Martinek, an early favorite to make the team was also released. Both Talley and Martinek (among others) could end up back here on the practice squad.
