Beckum Activated from PUP; Petrus Waived
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Giants have activated TE Travis Beckum from the PUP list and waived OL Mitch Petrus.

The move has not yet been confirmed by the team. The move was prompted by the injury to Bear Pascoe (ankle) who moved well in practice but may not be ready by tomorrow. Beckum has been practicing in full with the team for several weeks. Third-string TE, rookie Adrien Robinson, has only dressed for two of the team’s first eight games.

This is the second time Petrus has been waived in 2012. He was let go on Sept. 1, when the Giants claimed offensive lineman D.J. Jones off waivers from Philadelphia. When Jones failed his physical, Petrus was re-signed the next day.….Petrus’ departure leaves Sean Locklear, Jim Cordle and James Brewer as the Giants’ only reserve offensive linemen.
