Over the next four months, hundreds of mock drafts will offer their views of where prognosticators believe each college star fits with their future NFL teams.

For the Giants, they might hope one prognosticator is correct.

Rotoworld’s Josh Norris projects Notre Dame inside linebacker Manti Te’o to fall to the Giants at 19th overall.

He writes:

I know Te’o is getting a ton of love, even for the number one slot. It isn’t popular, but I don’t think the senior’s talent necessarily matches the hype. He is good, maybe even great, but Te’o is not revolutionary. The Irish ILB has improved a lot since 2011, especially in coverage, and offers starting linebacker skills. The Giants are always a tough guess, and a pass rusher could certainly work here too.

Te’o has been projected to be drafted inside of the top 10 picks, so falling to No. 19 may be a bit of a stretch. It would, however, fill the Giants’ greatest need.

Chase Blackburn is a hard-worker, but nowhere nearly as athletic as a backer like Te’o. The heart and soul of the Fighting Irish’s defense this season, Te’o, a Heisman Trophy finalist, racked up 103 total sacks, 1.5 sacks and seven interceptions, an absurd number considering his position.

He also played most of the season following the death of his grandmother and girlfriend in the same week, showing the character of this young man.
