With Andre Brown dealing with a concussion, running back David Wilson is expected to see a bigger role in the Giants’ offense this week in San Francisco.

According to reports, Giants coaches are “excited” about Wilson.

“Tom Coughlin’s not afraid to give Ahmad Bradshaw 30 carries again, but the coaches are excited about David Wilson, who should get a share of the load on Sunday.”

Bradshaw is coming off of a career rushing performance against Cleveland, but Coughlin has always been a stickler for the two-back approach.

The first-rounder out of Virginia Tech scored his first rushing touchdown Sunday and put forth his best rushing performance of his young career, with two carries for 44 yards.

Fantasy Spin:

San Francisco is the league’s top defense against the run, holding opposing backs to single digit fantasy totals in three of its five games this season.

Wilson will take a back role to Bradshaw, of course, and it’s hard to expect the Giants’ running game to be very effective in this one.

The prospect of Wilson becoming more involved in the offense is a positive sign for owners, but more so as a stow-away option going forward or in certain match-ups.

In last year’s regular-season contest v. the 49ers, the Giants rushed for 93 yards. In the NFC Championship Game, they were held to 85.

Bradshaw is a tough start this week, and Wilson should ride the pine.
