There’s a storm coming, so they say. So far all we’ve had here is a lot of wind. Just like the NFL offseason. Nothing but wind. No substance.

Speaking of wind, head coach Tom Coughlin is hitting every outlet in sight promoting his excellent new book about responsible adulthood, Earn the Right to Win.

Coughlin was asked on a radio program –  “The Crossover” on NBC Sports Network – about the prospects of the Giants selecting Notre Dame LB Manti Te’o in the first round.

“Just strictly football, strictly evaluating — I don’t really know the player other than looking at him on tape,” the coach said as per the Daily News. “We didn’t interview him in Indianapolis. But he didn’t play well in the national championship game…..Now anybody can have a bad game. He ran OK (at the combine), but it wasn’t great. So I’ll have to do more research on him. But at this point in time you’re asking me would I be surprised (if he’s available at 19)? No.”

Doctors have told former Giant RB Ahmad Bradshaw he is healthy enough to begin shopping himself around the league. As per Pro Football Talk:

As previously reported, Bradshaw visited a specialist on Wednesday. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Bradshaw received clearance to begin making visits.

He has expressed interest in returning to the Giants at a lower rate. He also expressed interest in joining the Jets. The Jets reportedly aren’t interested…..Now that Bradshaw has received clearance to make visits, we’ll find out who is.

Now that it appears TE Martellus Bennett is headed for free agency, Paul Schwartz of The Post expects the Giants to show interest in re-signing him, but how much interest remains to be seen.

“The Giants have a history of not breaking the bank for their tight ends, because they won their past two Super Bowls with steady, unspectacular (and low-priced) tight ends Kevin Boss and Jake Ballard filling prominent roles. They re-signed Bear Pascoe and have second-year Adrien Robinson on the roster at tight end…”
