New York Giants Black Friday Report
John Fennelly , Executive Editor
The Giants will be back at practice today, holding a midday session over at TIMEX. They keep getting golden opportunities to sew up this NFC East race each week but have yet to take full advantage of them.
Yesterday, the Washington Redskins (5-6) jumped out and hid on the Cowboys (5-6) in Dallas, beating them 38-31 in game that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score. Both teams are currently 1 1/2 games behind the Giants, who have a chance to extend that lead to two games with a win over Green Bay Sunday night.
The Blue worked out at TIMEX yesterday before breaking for Thanksgiving with their families. RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot/neck), DT Linval Joseph (knee) and WR Domenik Hixon (ankle) did not participate in practice. S Kenny Phillips (knee), LB Keith Rivers (knee/calf) and LB Jacquian Williams (knee) were reported to be limited.
The Giants formally announced the elevation of OL Selvish Capers to the official roster from the practice squad. Capers assumes the opening created when DT Markus Kuhn (knee) was placed on IR. Capers will wear No. 60.
Taking Capers spot on the PS will be OL Stephen Goodin. WR Dan DePalma was also added to the PS yesterday. He will fill the spot left open by the departure of David Douglas, who was signed away by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
