Giants Monday Afternoon Update
As reported earlier, CB Terrell Thomas is returning to Giants’ training camp in Albany to begin rehabbing his knee, which will not require surgery at this time. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Thomas was not feeling any pain nor was the knee swollen. He also did not provide a timeframe on the rehab process.
LB Michael Boley (hamstring) made his training camp debut. OT Will Beatty (back), LB Jake Muasau (hamstring) and LB Jacquian Williams (hip) missed practice again. CB Prince Amukamara sat out with a hamstring strain and DT Dwayne Hendricks was helped off the field with an apparent knee injury.
DE Justin Trattou (ankle) is out of his walking boot and hopes to return to action soon, but could not say when.
Coughlin offered public condolences to Eagles’ccoach Andy Reid, who lost his son yesterday and to Giants’ assistant Al Holcomb, whose mother also passed away:
“I will just start out today by acknowledging the fact that yesterday was a very sad day for all of us in the NFL family. Our condolences, our deepest sympathies, go out to Andy and Tammy Reid and their family at the terrible, terrible loss of their son. We also have Assistant Coach Al Holcomb, who lost his mother yesterday. It was kind of a sad day for us yesterday throughout the league.”
