Free agent LB Jasper Brinkley will visit the Giants today as per NFL reporter Adam Caplan. The 27 year-old Brinkley (6’1″, 252) was the Vikings’ fifth round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft out of South Carolina.

Brinkley played sparingly in first two seasons in Minnesota and missed the entire 2011 season with an injured hip, but bounced back last year with a 99 tackle performance. Although several websites such as Pro Football Focus give Brinkley low grades, the Giants are adept at seeing the potential of players and may see Brinkley as one of those low-budget options that are undervalued.
