The Giants breathed a collective sigh of relief when David Wilson continued to impress in his coming out party. Another TD this quarter. This time on the offense. The Saints, however, are not going away easily.

Saints received kickoff to open the half. On 1st and 10 from the 22, Brees threw high over the middle for TE Jimmy Graham. The ball hit off Graham’s hands and into the arms of Giants’ safety Stevie Brown, who returned it 21 yards to the NO 20 yard line.
The Giants made quick work of the Saints this time. They went 20 yards in four plays culminating in a 6 yard TD run by David Wilson to make the score 28-13.
After the Saints were battered into a 3-and-out deep in their own end, the Giants took over on their own 38 and drove 62 yards in six plays ending in a 25-yard TD strike from Eli to Hakeem Nicks up the far sideline to give the Giants a 35-13 lead with a little over eight minutes remaining in the quarter.
The Saints were not ready to cry uncle just yet. As long as Drew Brees can get time to throw, he will. On first down, Brees hit WR Joe Morgan down the middle for 62 yards on a pass that looked as if Brees was throwing caution to the wind. Morgan had to come back to the ball and catch it like a punt. Two plays later, Sproles scored from 13 yards out to cut the score to 35-20.
The Giants came right back, driving down the field to the Saints’ 35. But on 2nd and 7, Eli laid one out too late for Bennett at the 20 and it was picked off by Isa Abdul-Quddus and returned it to the 32.
Brees and the Saints knifed right through the Giants defense going 68 yards in six plays in 3:09, scoring on a 9 yard pass to cut the lead to 35-27.
The Saints attempted to kick the ensuing kick away from Wilson, only to have WR Jerrel Jernigan return it 60 yards to the NO 25 yard line. The quarter ended with the Giants in the red zone.
