With Ahmad Bradshaw no longer in Blue, the Giants are handing over the reins to second-year RB David Wilson.
But can Wilson take the wear and tear required of a featured NFL back? Keep in mind, he is also the Giants’ top kick returner. They will need at least one other reliable backfield option this season to keep Wilson fresh and change things up.
With Andre Brown recovering from knee surgery and Kregg Lumpkin and Ryan Torain free agents come March 12th, the only other RB the Giants have under contract is Da’Rel Scott (enter jab here). Unless someone steps forward from this group, or the team brings in another player (including Bradshaw), things will be touch-and-go in the Giants’ backfield this season.
The WheelHouse talks about the Giants’ recent moves of letting some veteran players go and debates if David Wilson can reach the next level.
