Giants Free Agency Update
The Giants got busy this weekend in free agency by signing one player (LB Dan Connor) and coming to agreements with two others (WR Louis Murphy and TE Brandon Myers). Murphy and Connor agreed to one-year deals and it’s being reported that Myers’ deal is also for one-year ($$$ details to come).
The Giants have now signed seven veterans from other teams this March: the above three, DT Cullen Jenkins (3 years, $8 mil), K Josh Brown, CB Aaron Ross and S Ryan Mundy. The last three all were signed to one-year deals.
In February, they signed K David Bueller to a one-year contract.
From their own stable, before free agency began, the Giants re-signed OT Will Beatty to a five year deal and DB Terrell Thomas and DT Shaun Rogers to one-year deals. This week, they brought back untendered RB Ryan Torain and LB Keith Rivers on one-year contracts.
Of the departing UFAs, only DT Chris Canty, TE Martellus Bennett and S Kenny Phillips have found new homes.
Canty signed a 3-year, $8 mil deal with Baltimore. Bennett got $20 million over four years from the Bears. Phillips signed an undisclosed one-year contract with the Eagles.
